The Hyper Shadow

For those unaware, this song is about a man named Tim Yohanon. If you dont know him, he's the manager of a club that let Punk Rock newbies come and drink, play music, and chat. He let Green Day in in the late 1980's. Green Day apparently spent a lot of time there having fun. However, When Dookie came out, they were not allowed in there anymore because they were with a record label and Tim called them sellouts. Tim had cancer (I heard you're sick/Sucked on the cancer stick). On the anniversary of his death one year, Billie tweeted:"Platypus was written for Tim Yohanon. And I pray to god I misspelled his name. Rest in shit you fucking cunt"He deleted this tweet however. He was also a music critic and said that Green Day's Dookie was a horrible album as is every album they ever made after Kerplunk. The song is named Platypus apparently because a Platypus is the ugliest animal Billie could think of at the time. It's also rumored that "Ha Ha You're Dead!" was also written about him but it hasn't been proven. ALso, nothing important, but in an interview Billie was asked "On a scale from 1 to 10 how pissed were you when you wrote Platypus?" Billie replies "Eleven."
