I think this live performance is from the Airplane's 1968 European tour. The Doors opened for them on some nights. On this version they are joined at least by Ray Manzarek on keyboards. It's a very cool version. It's not the one where Jim Morrison spins 'till loosing it and ending up at the hospital.

I know!! I figured it out after getting the "Take Me To A Circus Tent" book where they list the concerts! Too bad the plastic fantastic lover version where Morrison passes out wasn't recorded!! Anyway, Grace's keyboard sounds great on this one!

just came across this--believe it or not, this is from late 1966 or early 1967. AND that's no Ray on the keys...that's Grace Slick. You can tell because her playing, however great it was, was much more elementary compared to Manzarek's approach to the keys. Also--this version of the song is a lot slower than how they played it during 1968. Also--Marty Balin announces that Dino and Quicksilver are coming on after their last song--check out sugarmegs for the European tour!!
