SEAMUS MURPHY — "When I first heard 'Written on the Forehead' and its opening in a Middle-Eastern war setting and ending with a reggae-riff, I thought of black and white photographs I had taken in hot, dusty conflict zones.

Mixing them with the scenes of quiet desperation of England and that parallel movement came later in post-production.

Call it random, maybe it is, but usually the pictures themselves suggest what works together, the music has a lot to say in the choice too and a sympathy between them develops. It ended up as a way to show how different are all our lives, Us and Them. And a reminder, that despite all our differences we are all still vulnerable with human emotions.

Shooting pictures makes you observe in a detached way, whether in the West Bank, Gaza, Mogadishu or Waterloo Station in London.

Afterwards you try to make sense of them. What they mean will be personal to everyone. The opening with PJ Harvey's lyrics spoken in Arabic was shot in a pub on the Portobello Road."

I cant explain, but this song had a powerfull emotional power. The first time, i didn't watched the video, and i cant clearly understand the english spoken, but, ..with no "reason" i started to cry.

Every country has it's imperfections, that's why I just say,"Your country."...because they all do. I may have gotten defensive, but I don't see how it's cowardly of me. I only got defensive because I'm not that majority you speak of and regret being slumped in with them. I guess you just skimmed over my last comment, because I did just admit that I'm not proud of everything we've done under our name. And yeah, I'm always interested in learning the affairs of the World.

If my country (whatever country you might refer to, I'm not sure, but I'm sure you know the specifics of whatever country you're specifically referring to) has imperfections, I don't get defensive nor cowardly in my responses. Takes ballz to take it like a big person. Like this: Yea, the country that I live in has its fingers covered in so much crap from international meddling. I get how people would chuckle at us. In case you're really interested, start following tomdispatch.

Well then I would say that you are the one out of touch. Only imbeciles aren't specific about what they discuss. I'm certainly not embarrassed to be an American, but much like PJ feels about England...I also feel about America. I love this place but I'm also not blind to all of the irresponsible acts that have been done under the name of our country. As if your country is perfect either.

lol... I'm very sorry that it doesn't suit you that when talking politics, people refer to countries and not specific people inside the country. Don't worry, I'd be embarrassed too if I was an American.

There is always an exception. Some probably think about Germany when they think about Nazi's, because that's the country where they mainly started in. However, I don't sit here and say that the rest of Germany is to blame for the actions/beliefs of a few. You aren't even half as smart as you claim to be.

Ironically, US brought Stasi back.

If it's the majority that rules, that majority is US citizens. Do you think when people remember Nazis, they think of a government and not Germany? You're out of touch!

Yet you act like you forgot that little fact in your previous comments...because that would mean they don't represent all of us. That makes your hate for us fairly blind and biased.

Gasp, that sounds like something that would happen in a democracy!
