Her voice has developed dramatically over the years in a very good way. Even though there are a few better known female vocalists in the pop/rock industry who are technically superior (no names mentiones) PJ's intensity elevates her well above them. Listen to this live version of Horses In My Dreams where she projects her voice with such intensity it alters the whole approach to the way she originally did it that it sounds like a different song Quite incredible. watch?v=y0IUKddhOto12 years ago

Dear God, these are two of the most intimate & passionate performances I have ever witnessed of Polly Jean Harvey. I must use her full name in this context, for she most certainly must be singing from every part of her being here, as I've never seen before, even live. She appears to be showing herself, in a way that is from the depths of her heart & soul, from her true self; not the performer, not the actress, but the person I'm certain, only a few must truly know.
