One of the things I - and I know a lot of others - love about P5, is there deep appreciation of classic American pop, and their UNDERSTANDING of the music vocabulary of western pop. Not a lot of Japanese bands have ever come close to P5 (honestly, I can't think of one). They are truly an amazing band, and, their (I think proper) use of samples, is both innovative, original. They could take well known pieces, and combine them into something NEW. THAT is sampling.

The thing about P5 that I have always liked is that behind all the cool pop art posturing are people with a real sophisticated outlook on music and it's all topped off, naturally, by the warmth of Maki's voice. This performance here was absolutely epic.
