And in most cases, including most of Nirvana, that's where the similarity ends.Now, you want to hear great music that was ACTUALLY influenced by The Pixies? check out the first few Modest Mouse records, like "The Lonesome Crowed West". They've got the dynamics, sure, but they've also got the surf guitar sounds, the unpredictable song-structures, the shrieked vocals, the spooky lyrics, while, at the same time, combining those sounds with others and making something new. It's still not a rip-off, it's just a better example of a group of musicians who sound similar to The Pixies than Nirvana or Radiohead or every grunge band ever, who are cited more often.

The Pixies were all that.... I was entranced from this track... Then Bowie(!!) was saying they were his fave band..... I saw them Manchester International mid '89. Francis and Joey were literally fighting on stage.... The tension was palpable... I knew then the group was about to implode... And as much as I didn't want them to.... I enjoyed it.... They made 5 unimpeachable lps then went supernova before they went mega....
