This is Pitch Shifter (NOT Pitchshifter -- that incarnation of the band can fuck off) at their very best. Their crowning achievement, if you will. This song is like the end of the world. Apocalyptic as hell!

I can not decide which version I prefer. This or Industrial? Damn... Both are good, that is for sure. :)

Totally agree with billy... So sad. A perfect picture of a sellout. Pitch Shifter was years ahead of their time. They laid the groundwork for the Industrial movement in the early 90's. Definitely the peak... so very sad when an incredible and influential band turns toward money and screws up something great.

The first Pitchshifter album was actually kind of good. True it's not like Pitch Shifter from earlier but it's not bad either.

Helmet is another band who were f**king brutal and then the wheels fell off. I miss these guys, sad,sad decline.

Totally agree with you billybillybilybob, just take a look at some of the Pitch Shifter live videos on you tube, Pitchshifter never matched the intensity of those early shows.

Even live, when Pitchshifter perform songs from "Infotainment?" (they never perform anything before that, a further indication of their desire to appeal to a market as they're covering up the existence of their old sound to new fans), the vocals are that same poppy croon instead of the wacky roar he had on said album. All in all, Pitchshifter is a result of selling out, and lacks the sheer impact of their old music entirely. That's why I criticize them.

What's more, I'd hardly say they're "burned out" -- they've been releasing poppy rock music with mild electronic undertones for several years after their initial time of making actual industrial metal. Don't get me wrong, I have no problems with pop music -- I like Lady GaGa, for example. My problem is that even their poppy music is just irritating. The vocals have gone from their ridiculous but enjoyable sound to a generic and whiny pop croon.

@georgeprodjex Infotainment is HEAVILY nu-metal influenced, and the album that this song is off is heavily groove metal influenced. The riffs (to me) are bland, not catchy, and lack much real sense of power. I like maybe one or two songs from each of these albums. It was a dumbing down of their sound to appeal to a wider market, more commonly known as "selling out". Experimenting? It might have been. But I'd hardly say they pulled it off.

I don't want to start any arguments or whatever but I can't understand why you criticize Pitchshifter's later work so much. Same band but they're just experimenting. I like both their earlier and later work and admire their willingness to experiment. They did what no other band had ever done and pulled it off. They released this album and the Infotainment? album on Earache Records and apparently Earache screwed the band over which probably burned them out which then lead to the stylistic change

@Watchmaker312 Yes, they were so strong in their industrial days.

It's amazing how fast this band went down the toilet. Great song.
