I have never heard a good Rock cover of a Pink Floyd song but I have heard a few really good Jazz covers. I always felt like Pink Floyd had more in common with Jazz than Rock anyway. I know they were very influenced by Miles Davis but it would not surprise me at all if Sun Ra was an influence with his space themes and Space Jazz. Also John Coltrane. The early 60's Jazz Avant Garde scene must have had a huge impact on influencing Pink Floyd. They pretty much had all the elements I love in Jazz.
