I think I still prefer the version done by Clare Torrey, who recorded the whole Pink Floyd original in only 2 1/2 takes with the only instructions being, "this is a song about death, so we need you to sing for a few minutes without using any words." She was paid all of 30 quid for the gig, but sued some 30 years later for an undisclosed share of royalties from one of the biggest selling albums of all time. Legendary.
