i did not like the album and it was very meh. i love pink floyd but i did not like their 80s stuff. this album was very boring and did not have the moxy and umph that albums from piper to the wall had. i'd give this album a 5/10 as well

Believe it or not, this album is connected to their album "The Division Bell". Listen to the song, 'High hopes' listen to the last phrase.

Dude, you go on longer than the music, you could have made your point in 3 min. This music, which is not "ground breaking", is Nick, and David, burying Rick, musically, along with the name. It's more symbolic, in nature, than anything else. It's Floyd as elevator music, and I mean that in the best possible way. These men, have seen their friends, since being teens, die. That for anyone who has experienced it, brings the reality of, mortality, right up front.

The Division Bell is such an underrated album.

It was nothing special but it was never meant to be special. I see it as the cherry on top of the Pink Floyd collection, not important but still nice to have.

It's definitely not what I had expected, but overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the album.

How do you arrive at a 6 on this? A 6 out of 10 is placing the record in a place where maybe your viewers might decide not to drop money on the album, particularly for those under 35 years old, who never experienced Pink Floyd in their prime. From another standpoint, a 6 is simply much too low.Musically-speaking though: The textures created from the scraps of 20 year old + bits and pieces are pretty remarkable, for pushing Pink Floyd's own reach alone, but also for not sounding remotely like anything in the music world today. This album is a pure gem. I purchased it on double LP, without reading reviews, nor without a preview.

So Southern

Rating music confuses the fuck out of me. I mean Pink Floyd is legendary but what if you don't like the music on this album. Maybe Pink Floyd is just making the music they want to make. Who am I to tell masters of their craft that their music sucks? Know what I mean? Dont get me wrong some songs like The Machine, Wish You Were Here, Money, and Dogs of War Etc are very appealing to me. I just don't see how one can rate Pink Floyd in 2014 and be satisfied with your rating. I would be changing it in my mind like every 10 minuites.

I really like this record a lot. The music speaks louder than words, and that's the point of this record. +theneedledrop did you listen to the "bonus tracks" after Louder than words? TBS9 and TBS14? It gives me that Careful with the axe Eugene/Set the controls vibe.

You should give a try to Ten Kens. They are a really good band to review. I am in love with their 3 albums. They are masterpieces IMO.@needledrop
