wrong, revolver was recorded in april to june and released in august, freak out was recorded in may, and released in june. even blonde on blonde (better than freak oput and far better than revolver) was recorded in january. what are the "inventions" of revolver: 10 seconds of backwards, a song with violins (not the first), a song with brass (not the first), an indian song (not the first), a 3 minute song with tape loops and yellow submarine, the rest are the same catchy melodies.

chronologically the who, the beatles, the stones and the kinks were before PF. i was talking about quality. even i think the who is better than rolling stones or the beatles, the stones was not so diverse and the beatles were rooted in pop tradition, but "the who" tried almost everything, and the most important: they do it well.
