Take a look at this video on YouTube: their last UK single for 11 years. Released in December 1968, this early Gilmour/Waters composition was an attempt to write a pop song in the style of Syd Barrett. Even though they didn't succeed in that regard, the results are interesting. The instrumental B-side, "Careful with That Axe, Eugene", is much more celebrated and indicative of where the group would go musically. The band's eventual next 45 ("Another Brick in the Wall (Part II)") would be its only number one and holds the distinction of being both the final British chart-topper of the '70s and first of the '80s.

It baffles me that roger waters thinks this song is a "failure", it's an amazing tune in my opinion

Saw it on BBC4 the other night. It's a decent song, surprised they didn't like it much
