Anyone else hear the little snippet that became Southampton Dock?

The first recording of this song was with a harmonica.I like this version of the song, but honestly I think the album Version is better.I did a whistling version myself just to see how music and my voice mix.

This was the best possible song of all the songs in the world to end this movie. Soo emotional... Soo powerful!

Behold! human beings living in a underground cave, which has a mouth open towards the light and reaching all along the cave; here they have been from their childhood, and have their legs and necks chained so that they cannot move, and can only see before them, being prevented by the chains from turning round their heads. Above and behind them a fire is blazing at a distance, and between the fire and the prisoners there is a raised way; and you will see, if you look, a low wall built along the way, like the screen which marionette players have in front of them, over which they show the puppets. - Plato - Allegory of the Cave

LOL...I really liked the album but after hearing another brick in the wall on the radio for the 234th time.I still today can't hear that one track.I seen the movie,I was 17 with my foster brother and yes you are totally correct.I couldn't move my eyes away from the screen.Opened mine and my brothers eyes to A lot of things.

Yupp, sounds like my life with this album and the movie. Saw the concert with Waters in Gothenburg a few weeks ago. The soundtrack of my life.

It's just the movie version of it, but I agree, it is way better, just like how "What Shall We Do Now?" is in the movie.

If you trip out to the movie when you're 16.....your whole perception of life changes.

Seems like you made your point very well, most certainly about 'chasing the past'. I think you got a great deal of the message here. :)

Thanks for uploading this. May 'the Floyd's work reach and inspire many more generations.

I know what you mean. To me too, it's a 'philosophical guide', along with a lot of other 'Floydian' and Waters work. It's so deep and wide, there is so much in it, that it will remain accurate for generations to come.
