Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young

In a world of magnets and miracles

Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary

The ringing of the division bell had begun

Along the long road and on down the causeway

Do they still meet there by the cut

There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps

Running before time took our dreams away

Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground

To a life consumed by slow decay

The grass was greener

The light was brighter

With friends surrounded

The nights of wonder

Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us

To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side

Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again

Dragged by the force of some inner tide

At a higher altitude with flag unfurled

We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world

****

Encumbered forever by desire and ambition

There's a hunger still unsatisfied

Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon

Though down this road we've been so many times

The grass was greener

The light was brighter

The taste was sweeter

The nights of wonder

With friends surrounded

The dawn mist glowing

The water flowing

The endless river

Saw this for the first time last year..incredible piece of artwork. Such a shame the music industry has been decimated and devalued to the point we'll probably never see art like this again..

You know what, being the last song Pink Floyd ever wrote and the video being a reflection of the band's career I think that bust is that of Syd Barrett to signify their beginning and the legacy he helped leave behind.

The greatest minds in the world, alone on in island, creating perfection. That's the best way I can describe

Uhh too bad it is a pink floyd album, roger left floyd in 85, this was 94 under the pink floyd name, it's no David gilmours solo album, nick was awesome on this album, Rick as always, David is just the greatest, the inspired will chase wild dreams to play his style, for lifetimes

I don't care. I don't care that "it's not the real Pink Floyd". I don't care that Waters is not on it. I don't care that The Division Bell is e "Dave Gilmour solo album". I don't care that Syd's image is used without a good reason. I don't care. This is a beautiful song accompanied by a beautiful video.

chirrrs !!!

This song just crushes me to tears of rememberance, regret, sadness, loss...but also hope, vengance, vindication, clarity, and indifference. Such a powerful song.

Not normally one to boast or to be biased but this is why the UK will always rule, in the literal sense of the word, all musical history.
