Lyrics:

Jesus, Jesus, what's it all about?

Trying to clout these little ingrates into shape.

When I was their age all the lights were out.

There was no time to whine and mope about.

And even now part of me flies over

Dresden at angels one five.

Though they'll never fathom it behind my

Sarcasm desperate memories lie.

Sweetheart, sweetheart are you fast asleep? Good.

'Cause that's the only time that I can really speak to you.

And there is something that I've locked away

A memory that is too painful

To withstand the light of day.

When we came back from the war the banners and

Flags hung on everyone's door.

We danced and we sang in the street and

The church bells rang.

But burning in my heart

The memory smolders on

Of the gunner's dying words on the intercom.

Wonder why Roger did not use Teacher Teacher(early band demo from The Wall)but at least he kept the rhythm of the demo.

The Final Cut (occasionally subtitled A Requiem For The Post-War Dream by Roger Waters[1]) is the twelfth studio album by English progressive rock group Pink Floyd. It was released on 21 March 1983 by Harvest Records in the United Kingdom, and several weeks later by Columbia Records in the United States. The Final Cut is Pink Floyd's last studio album to include founding member, bassist and songwriter Roger Waters, and their only album on which he alone is credited for writing and composition. It is also the only Pink Floyd album that does not feature keyboardist Richard Wright.

I hate how this album gets so much unnecessary shit. Bottom line: its still the artwork of a musical genius.

The song was one of the tracks included on The Final Cut that had been previously rejected from their previous album, The Wall. Guitarist David Gilmour was opposed to this recycling of songs, believing that if they "weren't good enough for The Wall, why are they good enough now?"

They'd have to play the single, which censors "fuck all that" as "stuff all that."
