I had the opportunity to meet Phil Driscoll. The first time I was attending Chapel Hill in Decatur, GA...He played "I Will Exalt Thee" for the first time....I believe within 3 notes we the congregation fell to our knees in worship....the Church was filled with worship. The anointing of God's presence filled the Church. My life changed that day.....The last time I saw Pastor Phil was at Metro World Outreach Center in Stone Mountain, GA. This time my family was honored to pick him up at Atlanta Airport. I cried from the moment he entered our car.....the Anointing on his life is SO POWERFUL you can't help but weep for the presence of God is strong in his life.

Back around 1990 I was in great darkness, and heading for worse, thinking the Lord had forsaken me because of my failures and sins – and was driving with some friends when one of them said, Steve, put on the gospel station; so I did, and Phil was singing this song. In the midst of my terrible place, the Lord Jesus' presence shone into my heart, dispelling the darkness, and His presence in effect said to me – without any words – Look at you, you are as good as dead, without any merit, and I love you; you have nothing to commend you or speak in your behalf, and I love you; I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Heb 13: 5). I will help you walk with a strong faith in Me.This was a turning point in my life, as I saw it was not my performance that made me acceptable to God, but His sheer grace to an undeserving sinner, His love for the unloveable. The gratitude and joy that welled up in my heart by His Spirit has remained, and His mighty and wise shepherding care has kept me till this day, and will till I cross chilly Jordan (or He return), and I will praise Him for His enduring mercy through the endless ages in glory.Trust Him, for He is good; He has said, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world (Matt 28: 20), and, My sheep...shall never perish (John 10: 27,28)...And this is the Father's will which hath sent Me, that of all which he hath given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
