I was looking at Quincy's Album Juke Joint and heard this on it. I was surprised that Phil was on it but instantly liked it so. I love all those horns going in this song. Nice groove.

The song does have a message yeah, a message about a guy who regularly cheats on his wife/partner and expects her to wait around while he's cheating because he's never going to tell her the truth lol.

oh yes.. my mistake. Typo.. It is a JAZZ standard originally by Duke Ellington. Quincy arranged it .. and made it R & B for Phil. Phil totally did it Justice. :)

Sry to say, but I don't like Phil's singing in this number. The music itself is fantastic, is should be instrumental till the end...

A great rendition - what in French would be called "une grande reference" of a great jazz (not R&B) standard. Really puts Phil up there as a very good jazz singer . Quincy's orchestration's a thing of beauty but that's not him conducting, is it ? If you want a great female version of this song, try Ella's (slow) or Karrin Allyson's (fast, almost uptempo).
