So, does anyone know exactly what this song is about? I've read and sung the lyrics, and I can't tell if Murphy is going for the obvious, or the subtle. Is it simply about getting a lion tattoo, or is there a deeper meaning? I listen, and hear how the former king of the jungle, the leader of a wild pride of lions, is now a shadow of his former self, forced into captivity, on display in a zoo, where humans are inspired to ink his visage on their skins, in a mocking display of perceived power and prestige. I also have a hunch it might just be about a house cat imagining he's a lion, lol. Thoughts?
