[swordswordswordswordswordswordswordswordswordswordswordswords]------------------------------------------------------------------------------------THE TROUBLE WITH POETS is they talk too muchThey tell us it hurts them a little moreAnd we cannot tell if they make this upWe've never stood in their shoes, in their skins, in their heads, on their shoresThe trouble with you is you drive me nutsI cannot tell what's behind your smileBut what can they find just to lift us upJust for tonight, for the time, for the sake of us all that are frailI know it's only troubleI know that it makes us realBut I wish that peace of mind was something I could stealTrouble with shoes is they come untiedYou might take a fall down the stairsAnd a poet might come along and say: Well, now, that is just like lifeThe trouble with poets is they'll see poetry everywhereI know there's only troubleAnd here I am at the bottom of the stairsAnd I'm begging you for a few small repairsThe trouble with time is it don't go backOr maybe that trouble's just with you and meWe are so scared of that fade to blackThat we'll push, and we'll pull, and we'll do anything to be freeO Lord, how I push, and how I struggleI know it's all just the dealAnd I know it's only troubleAnd I know it makes us realAnd I know sometimes nobody knowsNobody knowsNot even poets knowHow we feelThe trouble with poets is they talk too muchLet us go then, you and I--when the evening is spread out against the skyLike a place in truth, a rise on a tabletop--In peaceMmm-hmm-----------------------------------Tuning: CGCFBbD

Genius Busking--tuning and right hand! Used to play at Zabars on Bway and 80th. There's a raw realness that is like no where else...the street. Something holy and pure and insignificant. Have all your albums but this remains my favorite.

Brilliant! Like the Michael Hedges tuning, traces of Greg Brown inflections, but mostly this Unique Voice of Peter Mulvey! Killer!
