buon proseguimento di giornataLiverpudlian Dunbar had played with The Mojos, John Mayall and Jeff Beck prior to forming his own blues-based band in 1967. An early version of the band comprised Dunbar, Peter Green, Jack Bruce and Rod Stewart recording a song called "Stone Crazy" for Blue Horizon but it was not issued at the time. It appeared several years later on "History Of British Blues" along with "Cobwebs", the flip of their first 45.

Jack Bruce's appearance on this is interesting. Cream were pretty busy throughout '67. As far as Aynsley Goes, I assume it must have been recorded between the 'A Hard Road' album and when he joined up with Beck? Any advance on Spring '67?

When Rodney was great. He is still around but his voice is not. :( time is such a thief. I can honestly say with feeling, no one did it better than Rod.

Just found this. Very interesting. I think this could be a track to do with Shotgun Express - a band Peter green was in before joining John Mayall. Then again there were lots of sessions at Blue Horizon studios....

What was this released under, or was it ever released originally? Band name? I see from the discussion that it was 1966. Was it simply a recording session of these guys? Great stuff!!!

Hey, "GREENIES" (you Peter Green fanatics), also check out (on YouTube):ROD STEWART - STONE CRAZY -- it is the SAME track with an overdubbed ORGAN [by ?] added. This is the Buddy Guy composition. Originally issued as an AYNSLEY DUNBAR track. A Mike Vernon Production (Blue Horizon records). In the USA on Sire Records' 2-LP release of "History of British Blues" (a 1973 compilation).Line-up: AYNSLEY DUNBAR [drums]; ROD STEWART [vocals]; PETER GREEN [guitar]; and JACK BRUCE [bass] -- basically, 3/4 of Mayalls' Bluesbreakers (c.66; before The Retaliation, Fleetwood Mac, Cream, and Jeff Becks' Truth/Beck-ola period !!
