This is the original mix, from N'dour's album "The Lion", in 1989. Peter Gabriel remixed it 3 times after that -- in 1990 (the title track of a greatest hits album), in 1995 (for the "jungle 2 jungle" movie) and in 2002 ("The Wild Thornberrys" movie). I put all 4 in my Gabriel playlist. Thanks for the upload!

This song saved my life.  I was not in a good place in my life.  I was married and very unhappy and I was lying in bed unable to sleep contemplating my choices.  My ex wasn't home and I was alone.  Outside a Great Horned Owl and a Barn Owl were hooting back and forth to each other for hours.  I put my attention on the slow and steady banter of these owls pondering my life and the message they are giving me.  After I got up in the early hours of morning, I put the album Solsbury Hill on the stereo and when Shaking the Tree came on, it was as if I heard it for the first time because the words of the song were speaking directly to me and during the song, I knew what the message from the owls were and I was very clear on what I was going to do next in my life.  This song gave me strength and vision to go forth and I haven't looked back since. Thank you Peter and Youssou for I am eternally grateful.
