"Dance With Me" is a 1978 international hit single recorded by Peter Brown. It was the second release from his first LP, and became his greatest hit. Backing vocals were provided by Betty Wright. In the U.S., the song peaked at number eight on the charts, and number nine in Canada. It spent 28 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.

Peter Brown's an American artist, songwriter and record producer. He grew up in Palos Heights, another Chicago suburb. His mother, Virginia, was artistic and musically talented and gave Peter music lessons at a young age. Peter's father, Maurice, was an electronic engineer and unwittingly helped him learn the technical aspects of recording music. He always brought home the latest technological breakthrough - which in those days included CB and ham radios, the first color television and the first stereo record player.

The 1978 Record World Magazine Disco Awards named Brown Outstanding New Performer, Top New Male Vocalist and Top Male Vocalist. He was also nominated by NARAS (The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences) in 1978 for a Grammy Award for best R&B Vocal Performance for the song Dance With Me. Dance With Me also included a guest vocal performance by Betty Wright.

Bessie Regina Norris, better known by her stage name, Betty Wright, is a Miami-based soul and R&B singer-songwriter, who won fame in the 1970s with hits such as "Clean Up Woman" and "Tonight is the Night". A pioneering singer-songwriter and entrepreneur, she remains one of the few black female musicians to produce a gold record on her own vanity label.

If you're feeling sad and blue

Come on and dance with me

I can make your dreams come true

Come on and dance with me

Ladies, get up off your seats

Come on and dance with me

Gentlemen, get on your feet

Come on and dance with me

Say the word and I'll

Summon the band with my hand

Let your minds and

Your bodies be free

Dance with me

You gotta keep on making me high

You gotta keep on making me high

If you feel that you

Like what you see

Dance with me

You gotta keep dancing

Cause it's making me high

You gotta keep, keep dancing

You gotta keep dancing

Cause it's making me high

You gotta keep, keep dancing

You gotta keep on making me high

You gotta keep on making me high

You gotta keep on making me high

You gotta keep on making me high

If you're feeling sad and blue

Come on and dance with me

I can make your dreams come true

Come on and dance with me

Say the word and I'll

Summon the band with my hand

Let your minds and

Your bodies be free

Dance with me

You gotta keep on making me high

You gotta keep on

You gotta keep on making me high

You gotta keep on

Let your minds and

Your bodies be free

Dance with me

Roller skates, took a few plunges before I got the hang of it, then a few magic moments slow roller dancing, after I took my courage to ask a girl to skate with me. both were shy, and that was cute. Didn't know why I was so... kind to her , but we both loved it. Somehow girls and why didn't know anything about hockey didn't matter...lol

I like the way he muffles the notes with his hand on the strings as he plays guitar. He knows how to tread on the guitar, playing lightly and quickly and adding some "funky" stretch notes - not missing a beat. Upbeat music. I miss it.Vocals, bass, and drums are great too. Those were easier times. Less stress world.

I remember as a kid growing up in 1970's NYC, my Dad used to take me and my cousins to Skate Key in the BX to teach me how to rollerskate, and this song was lit back then, and is still a banger in 2018...

A lot of great songs that came out in this time period were labeled as "disco" even if technically they were not. It was a backlash against dance music. Obviously it didn't work because now, everything is dance music.

Between 1977-1981 was some of the most extraordinary music. Disco still rocks.
