Great live version of 'Now And Then' from the last (perhaps Townshend has one more in him to make up for the EW trash) GREAT Townshend record (Psychoderelict).

Just happened to pick this song while looking for studio version from Psychoderelict. I loved the 12 string guitar I think he's playing, and the piano. I really, really miss the bass guitar lead intro though that is not on this version. Leave it to Pete Townshend to capture the despairing aspects of a relationship, especially between a couple probably at least 2 decades apart. Fortunately for me, when I remarried a gal half my age 45 vs 22, I having suffered terribly from a divorce from an American white female, sought my refuge in the Philippines where I met my wife and we have a beautiful, but most importantly sweet beyond all belief daughter. And then when I was there in Philppines, I was also singing to myself another one of Pete's masterpieces: Slit Skirts. Specifically the lines: " and those unfit for marriage took their refuge in the oil" ( Off shore oil rigs) and "No one respects the flame quite like the fool who is badly burned."Only Pete Townshend can put such twisted emotions to music. Pure (vastly underrated) musical genius.

This song is based on a factual passionate relationship that Pete had with a much younger girl named Liz Geier . Great song ! Thank You Pete and Liz ! - jrushmen

This is a song that is so true to life, no matter what the age. A crush, is still a crush and it madly hurts!

Both Psychoderelict and Endless Wire are fine. "Comparisons are odious, Smith."

Couldn't disagree more. In fact, I think Psychoderelict is the worse thing the man ever released, except for a few songs (like this one) while Endless Wire is very strong. That's the great thing about opinions. Everybody has their own and each is as valid as the next. Cool eh?

Are you direting this to me ? Where did it say that band should rehash same thing over and over... oh wait a minute, nowhere. Thankfully Townshend has always moved, hasn't done same thing twice but it doesn't change that EW is trash apart from GSOMR (magical tune). Not even close to brilliant songwriting of Psychoderelict. EW is truly disapointing and not even close to any previous Townshend (Who recod).....
