This was indeed huge in Montreal! When I played it at Thunderdome in the 1960's always got line ups at the DJ Booth forwith the question ..." Who does this?" :-)

OK look. You simply HAD to be there. Whenever this played at Le Garage in Montreal in the mid 80's, people went wild. It's not the melody (there is no melody!). It's the feeling, the atmosphere. It just feels like something is about to happen, but you don't know what it is. The Garage had an amazing lighting system and it was used like none other whenever this tune was playing. The Garage. Designer Lamp. What more is there to say. Stuff legends are made of. Anyone lining at that time would agree. Its been over 25 years and people are still talking about it: the best club that ever was. Period.

This would go well with a montage of all the nasty bits from the 'Saw' films - starting with the spinning car wheel/woman's head interface... ; )

I have been hunting for this song lately - it is just as archetypally head-rushing as when I first heard it - a real primordial scream - THX so much to my Buddy KIM for letting me know - and THX for posting it!

Glad you enjoyed it - although I feel sorry for your neighbours! It is indeed a very unusual track - nothing like anything P.S. has compiled - definitely a one-off!

Great to hear this again - I've just put this through our 1000w home cinema system, and had the neighbours tapping along to it on the wall! A very, very dark and weird track - I like to think of it as '111 part 2'.

Same here! I been looking for 'Designer Lamps' on the net for years now - I still have 12' LP import bought along time ago. This was the 'club anthem' at the Montreal 'alternative music' clubs. Sounds much better being played through a dozen amplifiers and a mountain of JBL speakers : ) THanks for posting.. Cheers!!
