The song is an excerpt from a 1976 PBS tribute to Woody Guthrie on the PBS program "Soundstage". Author, humorist Studs Terkel narrates and a gaggle of Folk icons do the rest. This is a remix in an attempt to improve audio & video.

[email protected] We have to sing again in the country- sing our freedom and love of all people- if we don't then we will live in a fascist state and our Republic will be no more.

As an old hippie who marched against the war, and was beaten in Berkeley by the cops/the MAN...more than once, I can tell you that the songs of Pete Seeger help me and many others continue to see the truth. Rest, rest peacefully Pete Seeger, and thank you for your beautiful kind spirit.

A sad day for all - the passing of Pete Seeger - Where have All The Flowers Gone" still true today - how unfortunate that we don't learn from past mistakes!

Pete Seeger never sold out in 94 years. Arlo Guthrie, on the other hand... Well, let's not go there.

I´ve been in tears nearly all day. Watching the documentary from 2007, The Power of Song, it came to my mind that I started singing Pete´s songs exactly 50 years ago. And if I look around me, nothing tells me I could ever give up singing them...lasst uns seine Fackel weitertragen! Danke, Pete.

Sadly this land is no longer our land but the land controlled by those in power and influence. And even worse, the masses are more and more uneducated and unwilling to take it back from them.
