This sucks. Watered down production, ridiculous pinch harmonics, same riff the whole song. Nothing like the old Pestilence.

why you people have to be this fuckin sigle minded? D.I.V.E.R.S.I.T.Y. exists and is a good thing. there's no "right" death metal growls or riffs or drumming. just different stuff for different tastes (or for minds open enough to like lots of different styles). and yes, he made a pefectly correct use of the term.

could it simply be that A) mameli just wanted to do some fuckin heavy stuff after other not-so-heavy musical experiences without hypothesizing plots to control fanboys' minds and steal their money, and B) that the fact you don't like something doesn't necessarily imply that it's utter shit for dumbasses? I prefer other kinds of technical death metal, but wouldn't call this stuff shit. not at all. am i dumb enough for you?

"I personally prefer spheres and other more melodic pestilence stuff, this is not for me" is an opinion. "this album is ridiculous shit for retards" is idiocy.

All Pestilence stuffs are fuckin' awesome but Spheres it's musically more mature and more technical. In my opinion, Spheres is the best.

Malleus Maleficarum, Consuming Impulse, and Testimony of the Ancients are classics imo.. Spheres... not so much

@Xenodemic Unfortunately, "nearly" and "identical" are not contradictory. In any case, Patrick Mameli was clearly still trying to make a quick buck after his god-awful C-187 rap-metal project and figured that he could get some dumb fanboys to buy new a Pestilence record or 2 if he just made them as heavy as possible. Given that you were dumb enough to buy into that, I guess there's no point in arguing with you.

@Xenodemic If you want good death metal vocals, see Gorguts, especially later in their career. Also, please learn the meaning of "oxymoron" before you use it next time, as you obviously have absolutely no idea what it means.

@Xenodemic Devouring Frenzy, Horror Detox, Hate Suicide, Synthetic Grotesque, Neuro Dissonance, Hangman. As I recall, several others have choruses that aren't much more than the song title. "Nearly identical" refers to the fact that the production of the guitars sounds so poor that low end individual notes are often barely intelligible from each other, even for someone like me who has perfect pitch, making many of the songs sound nearly identical.

@Xenodemic Sorry that I don't find it creative for someone to make an album full of nearly identical songs in which they start the majority of them by shouting the song title ad nauseum with the worst vocals I've ever heard in my life. At the very least, though, this album provides some good comedic entertainment for literally every single person I've ever shown it to.

underrated. most of the time when old bands come back and make new music it either sucks or its just ok. i think Pestilence is the first death metal band ive heard that pulled it off really well. this album is crushing. \m/

@crimsonaltruist The style is still similar to Spheres. I'm not really sure what you find so boring that's interesting in previous albums. But then you can never please everyone.
