Eddie Fisher is such an incredibly underrated and unknown singer. His voice is fabulous and very strong. He outperforms all of his contemporaries. Just shows you the affect of advertising.

Eddie and Perry had a father son relationship. Eddie's favorite singer growing up was Al Jolson, but Perry was not far behind, and someone Eddie had tremendous respect for. Perry likewise was very fond of Eddie, and greatly admired Eddie's power and range. When Perry was about 75 he gave an interview in which was asked if there weren't any young singers he really liked. Perry responded, Eddie Fisher, and then added, but I guess Eddie's not that young anymore.

That is probably the saddest thing today. People cannot have a homosocial relationship without being stamped as a homosexual. Back then peole sure did not care about another person's personal life. Shortly before he died, Eddie Fisher did an interview where he made a comment about that, saying: "We thought Rock Hudson was a great actor, Liberace a great piano player, we did not care about their person lives."
