After memorizing the song for another 3 weeks and listening through the crappy recording I hear it now. It you keep tapping the song out while it's going you can tell it's off. Still, he's an awesome drummer and it makes them that much better since they're good enough to recover like that.

Matt came in a beat to early after the first "follow" but then got back into the count shortly after. That's why his little trash part is on the 1 and 3 rather than the 2 and 4 count. That's also why his drum roll ends a beat early.

Nope matt messed up, beat isn't like that on the record, he was improvising to get the band back in time with each other, hence why they all went to him.

It was actually Matt's fault. Spencer didn't come in early. He was actually the only one on time through the whole part. The part where you think he comes in early is actually part of the song. He says "follow" and then continues with another "follow"
