This song is the first part of the "Trilogy" on the album (Muramasa, Ragnarok, Masamune) and shares music, lyrics and themes with the other two songs.

It was originally demoed a few years back and it was supposed to be a live intro that we were going to play when opening up with Zyglrox which is in a pretty specific tuning (AGCFAD) so this song is also in that tuning. That idea fell through, and the song was forgotten about. When we were putting the "Trilogy" together, we were listening to old demos that we hadn't heard in a while and this popped up. Listening to it then, it hit us all that this song absolutely had to open the album, and that we had something very special and a little different from our usual fare. -Misha

When the end of the world comes, and I'm angry and lashing out at everything that brought it to ruin, I'm going to be listening to this song.

It makes me think:When will society listen to the corruption it instinctively spills? It has blinded itself of self-awareness and focused on flesh, rather than the mind. Our fears, our dislikes, and our dark desires are conforming into our reality. We are not listening to ourselves.

This has slowly turned out to be one of my favorite tunes. And it's only 2:51. Truly. Epic. Check it.

I do realize that as well, just as Muramasa and Masamune were legendary Japanese swordsmiths or something, but they are also 3 legendary weapons from the Final Fantasy games. I don't know which ones make appearances in which games, but seriously look it up. In the description of the video for Froggin Bullfish it says that the song had a distinct similarity to a song from FFVII. So I'm gonna take for granted these guys love Final Fantasy more than the root meaning of the words...
