Lyrics:

Though you can give no more inspiring false security

I've got the reason to alter belief

Selfish paintings diamonds mutilate

You can't erase the way I'm unappreciated

But I can't sleep tonight

Embrace of the drink

Be hollow, swallow the pain

Splitting the fields

All the noise agitates

The stars have not aligned in your favor

Cross the line of obscenity

Ignoring the signs

The smoke in your eyes

Carelessly

Look to find a way, to love all the past promises, to keep you washed away.

Sever the ties

Broken by the black and white

Now fade away

The stars have not aligned in your favor

Cross the line of obscenity

Ignoring the signs

The smoke in your eyes

Carelessly

Look to find a way, to love all the past promises, to keep you washed away.

Laid in the ground

Were lost far beyond the clouds

Staring in the darks of hell, it's me.

Along the edge of belief

A heart always in the stars will never fade

Decay in the ground

Were lost far beyond the clouds

Pray in the dark for now

Prey on the sounds

And silence the darks around

Reach for a spark of doubt alive

I miss Periphery's sound when they sounded like this. It's almost a little sloppy, but still damn near perfect. That in my opinion helped give them a very unique sound. Spencer's original style of singing was more tolerable as well, and I'm not discrediting him for his efforts, he's a great singer but their new material with his newer style of singing is a bit girlish, almost as if he had a Paramore epiphany. (Pun there, Paramore, Epiphany, PERIPHERY! ;) ) That aside though, I love these guys dearly, and their music will live on forever to me.

Periphery should definitely re-record this album to make the vocals listenable. Spencer has some sort of weird whiny douchebag resonance in his voice here that's completely gone in their later material.

+toxicapathy try some Bach. The roots of the djent movement go way back, past Periphery, past SiKth back to classical music.

Just like other commentaries, this grouo have a good ear of world. Any group have made awesomes change of notes, like in 1:53 - 1:59: Re#M - Dom - SiM - Sol#m. And I have so much to say... Greetings :)
