I don't understand all the negativity in the comments. Then again it's youtube so people will always argue.

This song would be better without the screams. It just doesn't fit in the song.

Periphery is a further popification of the already-popified metallic butt chuggy low end rock music that Meshuggah had made popular. The vocalist's singing is just absolutely fucking grating, and I'm sure it would be much worse if it hadn't been doctored up so heavily in post-production. The guitarists are playing typical rock-metal riffs, with melodies being cut short to make "big-heavy" chord changes audible and super obvious. Nothing about this music is surprising or new. The drums are kinda dinky and boring, more Meshuggahness but with some "ghost (s)hits" thrown in for the people who need more notes. Meshuggah is boring too. P.S These guys play pop music. If an album can be purchased at Best Buy, the music contained therein is pop music. Meshuggah does that too.

This reminds me of when Muse released '2nd Law' There's so many people bitching about how betrayed they feel, how "different" this album is from the previous, and how the band has sold out.Meanwhile, I'm sitting here going, "The reason I like Periphery is becos they combine heavy de-tuned guitars with melodic passages, and they display instrumental virtuosity, but still know how to write catchy vocal parts. Are they still doing that? Yes? Awesome... What's that? There's more emphasis on the melodic, catchy side with this album? Okay, that's cool."

I first heard this on Euro Truck Simulator 2. I had an internet radio loaded into it for a metal station out of some server. When it started my first thought was nyan cat, i'm not gonna lie, then the guitar came in and I was like, "no, but i'm liking this so far" then came the singing and I was like "Sponce?" Periphery new song? Whaaat!? Must interweb this.

I love that chiptune intro, it makes me think of Periphery the RPG: Icarus Lives.
