I first heard this on a tiny, tinny transistor radio many years ago... and it totally summed up what I though the ocean must sound like... and this, mind you, was years before I'd ever seen or heard the ocean in person.Years later, after I'd moved to California and had had many opportunities to see and hear the "sound of surf" in person... I have to say, Percy got it right. He perfectly captured the magical quality of the surf. The surf does not sound anything like this... but he caught that magical, shimming quality that is the soul of the surf.
