Wow! I like her voice much more than on the original. She is now adding a sort of breathy slur that is wonderful and better than the absolutely true, clear, pitch-perfect approach she used at the start. This softens her delivery and greatly adds to the song. Wos!

@blackmore4 Haha, It was like 3 am when it just hit in "man, this song is inspired by All Blues".. and nice to hear thats true! Also, this backbeat has inspired the music Veronica too, by Bert Jansch.

""One of the negative effects of punk was that solos of any sort were sneered at."" Yeah but punk didn't last and most of their sneers were ignored.

This song was released on "Sweet Child" which came out in December '68 and "Strange Feelin'" came out on "Happy Sad" in July '69. Then again, Buckley also recorded "Strange Feelin'" on his "Dream Letter" live album in London during October '68... with Danny Thompson of Pentangle on bass! Probably a bit of mutual admiration to-and-froing on the song-writing front with, as both Buckley and Pentangle admitted, a love of Miles Davis's "All Blues" as the core inspiration.

One of the negative effects of punk was that solos of any sort were sneered at. I mean, that was great concerning all that King Arthur prog twaddle but listen to Thompson here... fuck, it's SO beautiful.

Lovely to find them together again. Used to watch 'em at the Horseshoe Hotel in 1968, I think it was. Love you, Bert.

The slight errors by jacqui early on just show how challenging her part is to sing. Most of us don't notice a slight missed note on a guitar or bass, but Jacqui's right center stage, with no frets to guide her. This is as quietly marvelous as a slight breeze on a spring morning, so subtly great. How coordinated they all are

Lovely stuff, just the thing to warm your heart. Bert, Danny, Jacqui & John rightly get their fair share of praise but this video shows what brilliantly expressive and soulful drummer Terry Cox is. Top class.
