Pentangle, in it's original version, was active from 1968 to 1973. The band was made up of Jacqui McShee, John Renbourn, Bert Jansch, Danny Thompson, and Terry Cox. In 2007, the band was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the BBC Radio 2 British Awards. They considered their music to be a sort of "folk-jazz" rather than "folk rock".
