All of us here at Touch and Go are pleased to announce the release of the first in our web series of mini-videos about our 25th anniversary birthday bash held last September at the Hideout here in Chicago. Now, for all of you who couldn't make the trek, here's a way (other than all those blurry youtube videos) to check out Big Black's stellar set, David Yow in all his writhing glory, or any of the 29 other bands that rocked thousands of socks off in one glorious weekend.

The series kicks off on our website this Monday, January 22 with an overview of the block party and how it came to happen. Then, starting January 29, we'll begin posting band-specific clips from every set of the weekend. We don't want to give too much away about the first few posts, but you can expect to see a little old-school, some more recent faves, and even one from a band that's so new they haven't released a record on Touch and Go yet. In the weeks and months to come, check back every Monday for a new video from a different act blending live performance and interview footage in commemoration of 25 years of Touch and Go

I love Pegboy, wish they would come to the U.K, or maybe someday I'll manage to go see them in the U.S!! Great footage even though the crowd are dead, I would have had a one man mosh pit to them if I was there!!

This is one of those rare points where the lead man has to pull the weight. This is obviously an out of touch and useless crowd who has never even heard of Pegboy, which is fine. That's actually, normalcy. However, playing the lead, trying to work with a dead crowd and trying to get that crowd to respond to your rather alien music, is almost as hard as the job of the stand up comedian. A true challenge that Damore meets here and everywhere.

That's because it was one of the first bands (if not THE first band) to play on Saturday morning. Larry was crazy out of shape, losing his voice, and they were ALL drunk! Such a rad set though!

I have the fields of darkness 7'' but I wish I could get my hands on "Walk On by" on either CD or MP3 somewhere. I don't think it exists...

You said it brother. The material has withstood the test of time. At times, I've wished they would remaster it because the mix, even on CD, is...a little off, but that adds to the charm. The Strong Reaction album = CLASSIC.

lame crowd there should be a pit before they even hit the stage. pegboy underappreciated punk band they blow all the new bands out of the water!

one of my faves, it was dangerous to see them if you were in the front row.larry damore would run up to the end of the stage and give you a knee to the face. but they were great live, saw then twice in austin tx, back in the mid 90's
