I've had this song stuck in my noggin for the last 72 hours and haven't heard it for maybe 7 years but I love it for some reason. Something about the occasional incorporation of gospel type singing into trip hoppish music does something for me. Plus I love the use of the Hammond organ in the background, adds more gospel sound to it. So incongruous it fits beautifully..

Honestly, yeah, but if you really look into it, he's almost like a kaufman-esque comedy bit, mixed with some amazing music. There's so many layers to that dude. Epidermis, for one.
