I wanted to share something that came to me as I have been sitting here this lonely veterans day.Someone once told me "War is War and Hell is Hell, and of the two, War is worse".  I didn't understand that until afterwards.  I'll never forgive myself.  I hope my children will.  I'm still here but, most of me is back there.  Maybe some day I can be complete again but, I doubt it.  I'm glad some of my friends made it back but, can't forgive myself for those who didn't.  The worst part is...I hate me for the screams of my enemy that didn't make it home to his children.  He forever is in my mind.....GOD help me for what I've done.  This is something that I have known for a long time but, just put to words while reading something a fellow veteran posted.  To all veterans, even if they spit on you like they did me.  We need to be there for each other, even if people don't understand us.  How could they really get it.  Most people don't watch friends die daily.  Or get why you listen to the songs you do.  They don't get why you stay up all night or, hit the ground when you hear a loud bang.   For those of us that live with our survival and for the memories of those that gave their lives looking out for us.  And yes, for the families of the enemy we killed.  We must remember, and keep them in our selves. They gave the ultimate sacrifice in death.  To protect us, or to not kill us.  Both sides have paid the price.  Help us, and ME God.  I need to forgive me but, don't know how.  I just know that those of us who have been there, and those who have paid.  Need you and each other.  Please God, save me.
