It sounds good when you're high. Hardcore punk bands are always very technically tight despite some being amateur musicians, but this is grungy psychedelic slacker rock. Grateful Dead often hit the wrong notes too.

I have amazing memories of listening to this song as I flew into LA for the first time. I was glued to the window with eyes like saucers. Stephen shouted at me through my headsets, "Manmade deltas and concrete rivers, the South takes what the North delivers!" Spec-fucking-tacular.
