I was at this gig, it was my birthday, December, Pavement supported Sonic Youth that night. That's me and my friends screaming at the end of the song, we were in our element that night, I remember the guy with the whistle too. After the gig Gary the drummer climbed the lamp post outside the Academy. We got him to autograph a cigarette and my friend's walking stick (he had a bust ankle at the time). We listened to the gig the next night on BBC radio 1 presented by John Peel. Happy daze
