Paul Westerberg - Crackle and Drag (live) video free download

Song begins @ 1:27.

At the end of a very rough (and rapidly deteriorating) solo set, Westerberg pulls out this gem. Later released on the "Come Feel Me Tremble" CD (in both acoustic and electric form) I think this is the by far best version of this song, especially considering the context of the performance.

really? for me the true paul greats hit me first time and i just cant stop listening. kids dont follow was first. i heard that song on youtube, bought the stink ep on the spot. then when i got it i heard you're getting married, nearly cried. Some of his other songs have done the same, such as this one.

I was just thinking about how the versions that came out a year and a half later on the album weren't as good as when I saw it live . . . at Music Millenium in 2002. The album versions were both much faster and just not as good as I remembered as I'd seen at this show (when I was dead center about 10 feet back of the stage). I still have that cardboard poster they gave out. I also got the then-new album autographed that day. The album had come out that same day.

really hope this one goes on a compilation album sometime. It sounds much better to me than the original take.

@ih8music Thank you very much for that info. I still can't believe some douche didn't want this amazing song on the record. Funny thing is I don't remember any of the versions of this song from the CFMT-cd, but as with many of PW's songs you don't really get their brilliance right away. Then one day you hear them and they just hit you right in the face with their awesomeness. At least thats the experience that I've had with many of Pauls songs.

@Apanzon Yeah, this is from his 2002 free solo "in store" tour in support of Stereo/Mono.

@slipnslidesuicide Possibly from Stereo. The last song on the album, his cover of Postcards from paradise (Mono CD excluded), starts with the words "The end", same as original take of this song.
