Buy Weller's new album "Sonik Kicks" now from the Yep Roc Store http://bit.ly/H9i2ZR

20 years ago, Paul Weller released his first solo album, after having massive success with his bands the Jam and the Style Council. With his 11th solo album, Sonik Kicks, Paul Weller once again shakes up his palate and stirs his influences anew. He mixes pop art punch with soulful communication; jazzy explorations into psychedelia and dub with razor-sharp melodies and abstract soundscapes with clear-eyed forest-folk. Featuring "That Dangerous Age," "Around the Lake," and "When Your Garden's Overgrown."

Sounds a bit like the Super Furry Animals... but you'd have to be a total fuckhead not to like it. Fun sound.

Agreed. Sadly, though, those comments got the most votes of anyone's. The first time I heard this song I liked it. I think a lot of the critics here are unhappy that Weller isn't doing what he used to. But what right do they have to tell an artist what he/she should be doing? How many of us are like we were (or would want to be) 20 or 30 years ago?

I love it. Then again I'm not shackled to the idea of what he "should" sound like.

Wholly unoriginal. Sounds like Cream mixed with a touch of The Doors, so therefore - WHY?

"Hello, I Love You" sounds a lot more like "All Day and All of the Night" by the Kinks than this sounds like "Hello, I Love You".
