*"The Boy In The Bubble" - Paul Simon**"The Boy In The Bubble" ist wie ich finde der schönste Song aus dem Album "Graceland" von 1986. Für das Musikmagazin "Rolling Stone" Platz 5 der besten Alben der Achtziger Jahre. Gewinner des Grammy 1987 als " Album of the year". Hier live beim "The African Concert" in Zimbabwe 1987 zugunsten der Opfer der Apartheit in Südafrika. Ein Wahnsinnskonzert unter anderem auch mit der "Queen of South Africa" Miriam Makeba.**Lyrics:*It was a slow dayAnd the sun was beatingOn the soldiers by the side of the roadThere was a bright lightA shattering of shop windowsThe bomb in the baby carriageWas wired to the radioThese are the days of miracle and wonderThis is the long distance callThe way the camera follows us in slo-moThe way we look to us allThe way we look to a distant constellationThat's dying in a corner of the skyThese are the days of miracle and wonderAnd don't cry baby, don't cryDon't cryIt was a dry windAnd it swept across the desertAnd it curled into the circle of birthAnd the dead sandFalling on the childrenThe mothers and the fathersAnd the automatic earthThese are the days of miracle and wonderThis is the long distance callThe way the camera follows us in slo-moThe way we look to us allThe way we look to a distant constellationThat's dying in a corner of the skyThese are the days of miracle and wonderAnd don't cry baby, don't cryDon't cryIt's a turn-around jump shotIt's everybody jump startIt's every generation throws a hero up the pop chartsMedicine is magical and magical is artThe Boy in the BubbleAnd the baby with the baboon heartAnd I believeThese are the days of lasers in the jungleLasers in the jungle somewhereStaccato signals of constant informationA loose affiliation of millionairesAnd billionaires and babyThese are the days of miracle and wonderThis is the long distance callThe way the camera follows us in slo-moThe way we look to us allThe way we look to a distant constellationThat's dying in a corner of the skyThese are the days of miracle and wonderAnd don't cry baby, don't cryDon't cry#southafrica

Such a beautiful combination of American and African music, lyrically and musically.

Each time I listen to this magnificent song, it wriggles my heart and stomach with its deep sorrow. Great poet and musician, Paul Simon.

Still an amazing and legendary concert with a powerful message. Inspiring to see a mixed race audience all enjoying this music together in those terrible times of Apartheid. Paul Simon and the other musicians braved a lot to give that concert in Africa, to a multi-racial audience. And by doing so showed South Africa (that I believe forbade the concert happening there) and the world we can be one, and that music has the power to unite us all.

Quite simply, Graceland is the moment music leapt up and grabbed me and I've never been the same since.

This song, this music concert, the whole Graceland album brings back so many happy memories. My mom saw this special on cable and she went wild. She never heard African music in her life, and she went right out and bought this tape. She listened to it so much she wore it out. This album made her so happy. RIP mom

Paul Simon, from the Graceland album, performed live in Zimbabwe, 1987. Fun song, well played. Watch the bass, drums, and percussion.
