I see (hear) your point, to a point if you mean that horns are silent till 1:56. Then there's the part you moan about. Then, 3 minute mark to about 3:17 they come in again. Then more horns till 4:25. I dunno, but it seems like a balanced and well-executed version to me

This was such an incredible performance -- the "doo-wop"s, the organ solo, the guitar showdown at the end...proof that Paul Simon's songs are lasting works of art that get better with age! Everyone was on top form.
