if you're concerned w/ mastery of the medium, van gogh compared to ingres or jaques louis david fell considerably short of both of them, especially in draughtmanship. in order to make yourself a more culturally refined person, you're going to have to learn there are certain undefined and transcendent qualities that make a work outstanding--and when you can see this in paul potts then you'll have graduated from a self-absorbed, pedantic luddite into somewhere gifted to see a true work of art

And now this magnificent "tenor", this "international opera star" is singing for the "operatically aware" Koreans! He has a terrible voice, no technique, knows no music or Italian, and learns these pieces phonetically. To call him a tenor is a joke and confirms the stupidity and ignoance of audiences and critics alike. The music is Nino Rota's soundtrack to the 1968 Zeffirelli ROMEO AND JULIET. So they've made an "aria" out of it and now this idiot is singing it in cheap concerts? TOTAL SHIT!!!
