How long has Paul been a genius? All Day? Nope, all life.

Where did this unreleased track become available? Was there a special album or something?

It's not called Two Fingers. The song is called The Wind Is Blowing. The reason why it became known as Two Fingers is because Paul played this song with Two Fingers, and showed people a sample of it on a talk show in 1999.

@p25735 Your response is very insightful. "Two Fingers" does sound stronger. I have listened to both many times and enjoy each greatly. I agree with your other observations as well. Paul is not only a master of the melody, he's also a wizard of melancholy. It makes me wonder how much sadness resides within him. Only Brian Wilson and John Lennon spring to mind when I consider other pop contemporaries with similar attributes.

@p25735 I think the song stands on it's own. It is a beautiful melancholy number and does not need Lennon or anyone else to improve it; in fact it sort of reminds me of some of John's stream of consciousness stuff like "Across the Universe" but with a Paul take. Not better, just different. Although John's tune was more fully realized and a Beatles favorite of mine.
