Paul's thirteenth "solo" album release, and almost two years after "McCartney II".

With "Ebony and Ivory" doing so well in the singles chart, the timely release meant that the album entered the L.P. chart straight into the highest position. After two weeks it had sold 20,000 copies in the U.K. and had passed the 100,000 sales mark before August. It remained in the chart for over 6 months.

The production of "Tug Of War" spanned a year and a half, starting in October 1980, and not being completed until March 1982. During this period, on 27th April 1981, it was officially announced that Denny had left the group, and that Wings had disbanded. "Tug Of War" had an initial official release date of 15th February 1982, then 12th March, but did not appear in the shops until the end of April

CREDITS:

Paul : Bass, acoustic guitar, synthesisers, percussion and vocals

Carl Perkins : Electric guitar, vocal

George Harrison took the stage name of Carl Harrison before the group became the Beatles for his respect for Carl Perkins.

It was actually about Carl being poor and crapping in the fields, it was more detailed and funny then that, but yeah that's it =D

As nice as this collaboration is, I do prefer My Old Friend, the other Carl and Paul song. This song allegedly moved Paul to tears, as the line "won't you think about me every now and then" was coincidentally the last words John said to Paul. This song remained unreleased until Carl's 1998 "Go Cat Go" CD.

@SystemJammer - Listin to "i'll cry instead" by the beatles- that's just one of many many beatle songs where george plays like his guitar hero carl "thats george playin, but that's all carl licks lol. When the beatles music changes in 1965 with songs like "michelle" and and your bird can sing, george had a hard time playing leads to them, because the chorde changes where different to the three chords george was use to playing leads to. He ,didnt know the scales to play from on those chords,
