I'd love to see him add this to his tour repertoire.

i think all the ones that went solo after The Beatles breakup have that element of sounding like them, more so in McCartney and Lennon. Even Elton John sometimes incorporates the guitar sounds and style that Lennon used in their music. Not the same ones of course, but that unmistakeable style.

Yeah! Macca lost his wings but rocked on brilliantly in '82. This was actually the first album I waited in line to buy from Alwilk Records which got records a week or so before they hit the mainstream chains. LOL Love this ol' LP and this tune in particular! And, yes, very Beatle-esque but hey! George Martin produced! Gotta love it!

Very good song! Sounds a lot like something out of The Beatles' mid-period, like Lady Madonna or Paperback Writer or Day Tripper

The only tie this album has to Wings is that Linda and Denny sing some background vocals and Denny plays guitar on a few tracks. Denny was constantly broke, so Paul allowed him to be on a few tracks so he could make some money. All other musicians on the album were invited guests. When planning the album, Paul hoped that John, George and Ringo would be among the guests, but John died and George said "no". Ringo did play on a few tracks.

This song was inspired by the ballroom dancing craze on British television in the late 70's-early 80's. That's why there's the line: "Seen it on TV". At the time, several ballroom dancing competition shows were among Britain's top-rated on television.

I'm a huge Beatles fan. I used to see only Beatle interviews and I always thought Paul was a total dick and way overrated. Then I heard his solo work and some of his concerts and I realized how sweet and nice he is. And also how brilliant he is too. He is an amazing songwriter and probably my favorite singer. Sorry Paul for thinking you were an asshole. Peace and Love to everyone.

I really need to get the LP of this, I love listening to the mp3's, but nothing replaces Vinyl, and Paul well...he's Paul for crying out loud, he's a must have.

It was. Back to the Egg (1979) was the last studio album by Wings (though not the last live one) and McCartney II (1980) is the first solo by Paul. Tug of War is from 1982.

I was deceived all these years... I have always listened to the Give My Regards to Broad Street version thinking it was the original one ! This is a great version too, nonetheless...

My father got the Tug Of War LP. It's so wonderful to listen to all the songs on LP. The sound is fantastic!

part of the album is bits of wings but its considered a sort of solo album but you'd be right by saying mccartney ll so we're both right
