This is the historic B-side of My love one of McCartney's classics, but The version the we are hearing is a studio version taken from the sessions of Red Rose Speedway of 1972. It opened the way to many other McCartney Rock takes like Helen Wheels, Jet etc.

Just recently discovered this version & I think I like it even better than the live version. It has a clearer sound without sacrificing the rawness of early Wings. Really hoping that when Red Rose Speedway is remastered it will include this version as a bonus track as well as 1882, Seaside Woman & Jazz Street, etc. That would make it the LP it could have been if Paul had his way instead of the suits @ EMI.

Love Henry and Denny's guitar work on this song, even better live - I suppose that's why Paul went with that version.

Not bad -- better than a lot of what went on the actual album..but he could have picked up the tempo a bit, like "Junior's Farm".

Some say that people would walk out if McCartney did a tour with these Wings songs. Of course I think they're insane, I would absolutely love a tour of these songs by McCartney!

It kinda sounds like they never really mixed this. Thanks for posting this, I always loved the single! He was so prolific during this time.

Would love to see him really revisit this entire era... released and unreleased .. do a whole tour .. he's really had a great career that only he can really sum up ... would be a fantastic tour.

Yeah that's what I mean, I waited 37 years to hear 1985 live and it finally happened!! So who knows, maybe "The Mess" will be performed live again.....and heck they're even from the same year!

@realemetic1 I'm not sure what you're saying exactly... but when I saw him live he did open with those and also played Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five.

If he reverted to opening with Venus and Mars/Rockshow and did Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five for the first time ever, plus Letting Go.....anything may be possible!

Greatest ever McCartney rock song. If this song closed Abbey Road can you imagine how popular it would be?! As it is, no ones even heard it!

Ridiculous. I just have to laugh really. McCartney is off the scale genius. He's on another planet of talent. Heres another song then, no ones heard it, other artists would make a reputation off it.. doubt Macca even remembers recording it.. just another epic masterpiece lost in the cannon like Soily and the others. Its criminal how overlooked Wings are in the UK.
