Mccartney does a great job of just slipping into this effortlessly and naturally.

It's been 15 years and I still can't watch this DVD without tearing up for all those men and women, and the loss of their good friend.

About holding on to things, attachements that at the end will make us unhappy if we continue to cling to them. George was early into the idea and what song could be more appropriate when remembering this great artist with the warmest heart.

This is arguably the best song the Beatles ever rejected. I think Paul is conveying his admiration for the song with this lovely tribute. Apparently it was John - in the grips of heroin addiction, Yoko and a temporary creative abyss - who vetoed this more than worthy song of George's. I think George was irked by Paul's input in arranging the song, which he felt was overbearing. John was just being difficult, flexing his power to dismiss George's songs (which were, for the first time, more plentiful and mostly superior to John's LIB offerings). Perhaps Lennon didn't want to be "showed up" by not only Paul, but George as well. That or he was miffed that George expressed his agitation with Ono's omnipresence and the obviously detrimental results on the band. Like I Me Mine, Here Comes the Sun, Long, Long, Long, etc. ATMP should have been recorded by George, Ringo and Paul. John could go off and add guitar to one of Yoko's wailing/screeching/ear piercing "songs".

I love how Eric Clapton, Ringo and others are singing along, even though they're off-mic. They're feeling it. Beautiful song.
