Paul co-wrote the song in 1962 wih his friend and bandleader Franck Pourcel - using at that time, the pseudonyms of Del Roma and J.W. Stole. It was featured in the movie "Sister Act" (1992) with Whoopi Goldberg.

"Originally performed by Petula Clark". Well, not quite. You're right that "Pet's" recording preceded Peggy's,but the first recording was an instrumental by Franck Pourcel who was Paul Mauriat's co writer on this song.

There was a version recorded in 1962. Does anyone have it posted on here? I have not seen it, but it is a very cool version. Almost like The Shadows played it.
